Horseback Rides Through Scenic Sonoran Desert
Before your Arizona Horseback Adventures riding experience, we take the time to introduce you to your horse, including all the tips you need to know on how to direct it throughout your horseback riding journey. Our friendly, experienced cowgirls and cowboys will mount you up on one of our 50 beautiful, gentle trail riding horses, some of which are rescues.
If horse trail riding is new to you, we feel that you’ll be comfortable and confident on your Cave Creek horseback riding experience. Ticket price includes Spur Cross Conservation entrance fee.

Plants of the Sonoran Desert have extensive root systems, which spread near the desert’s surface to quickly obtain and store water when it is available. For example, the roots of a 2-foot tall Cholla cactus may spread out up to 10 feet in every direction.

Picture the sun setting behind the mesas to the west as you peacefully ride back to the stables. Arizona’s rich sunsets of brilliant red and purple hues are the perfect backdrop for horseback riding. Join Spur Cross on the last ride of the day for a chance to enjoy the peace and serenity of Cave Creek. We pride ourselves in providing the best horseback riding experiences for you and your entire family. This trail ride will take you through the beauty of the Tonto National Forest and Sonoran Desert! A thriving population of different plant species inhabits these lands including pincushion and hedgehog cacti, prickly pear, barrel cactus, ocotillo, mesquite, palo verde, even the giant saguaro cactus!
