Refund/
Rescheduling Policy

The following policy regarding cancellations:

  • 48 hours cancellation: 100% refund;
  • 48-24 hour cancellation: gift certificate with 1 year expiration;
  • Less than 24 hours: no refund.
  • In the event of inclement weather and we are forced to cancel a rain check is issued with no expiration date.

Weather Policy

Activity may be cancelled due to severe weather or unsafe trail conditions.

The activity usually runs in light rain and other moderate weather conditions, but the seller may cancel the activity up to an hour before the start time in the event of severe or unsafe weather conditions or unsafe trail conditions. If the seller cancels the event, ticket-holders will be allowed to reschedule tickets (subject to availability) or receive a raincheck for a future event. No refunds will be issued.

Weight Requirement

  • All participants must meet the age and weight requirements.
  • For safety reasons, children must be at least 6 years old to participate.
  • If you’re over 6′ tall there is a 250lb. weight limit.
  • If you’re under 6′ tall there is a 220lb. weight limit.
  • If you’re under 5′ there is a 180 lb. weight limit.
  • Anyone we feel exceeds our published size and weight. Maybe asked to be weighed in the privacy of our office. Should you fail to agree to these terms your ride will be canceled without a refund.

Liability Waiver

All participants are required to sign a liability waiver. A parent, guardian, or supervising adult is required to sign for minors under 18-years-old. Participants under the age of 13 are also required to wear a helmet.

Do I have to purchase ticket in advance?

Children must be at least 6-years-old to join one of our trail rides. The child will have their own horse (No double riding). For children under 6 years old, we offer pony rides (for the child only, no adults) for $1 a minute. We ask that you contact us ahead of time to request a pony ride. Although pony rides are only $1 please considerate of the guide as tips are greatly appreciated.
For both the Day Horseback Rides and Trailblazer Rides, you will get to learn the basics of horseback riding, ride into the foothills of the Sonoran Desert, learn about the desert habitat, spot some wildlife and much more! For only the Trailblazer Rides, riders get the unique experiences of riding into the Tonto National Forest, which is the largest national forest in Arizona.
While our wranglers are very knowledgeable when it comes to horses and the desert area, the trail ride is not narrated. We encourage our guests to ask as many questions as they’d like, or just sit back and enjoy the ride! Cameras are allowed so take as many pictures as you like.
We strongly recommend using the restroom beforehand, as there are no restrooms along the trail, “just mother nature.”
Absolutely not! Beginners are more than welcome to attend. Our horses are very gentle and they only walk during the trail ride. Our wranglers are focused on the safety of the group. Although for more advanced riders, our 3½ hour and 4 hour rides are available.
Not at all! We ride on over 300 thousand acres of nature. The options of tails are nearly endless. If there are sights you are interested in seeing, please let your guide know and we’ll custom tailor your experience.
Arizona’s rocky trails are some of the most exquisite in the world. Our trails are located in foothills between low, flat desert and high mountains. The terrain is slightly sloped with periods of flat in between. They are all completely safe and comfortable to ride on for both the rider and horse.
On our rides, were less concerned about going from point A to point B in a certain amount of time. We want to show you the beauty of the desert rather than have you move along a predetermined loop.
Absolutely not. For the safety of all riders, only one person may be on each horse at a time.

Before every trail ride, our wranglers demonstrate basic horse riding skills such as mounting and steering a horse. Our wranglers are focused on the safety of the group and ensuring that everyone is comfortable during the trail ride. Keep in mind that our horses only walk during the trail rides. Additionally, if you have any questions along the way the wranglers are there to help.

We do not recommend that a pregnant woman go on our horseback rides. But they can feel free to relax at our stable and visit with the animals while the rest of the group is out on the trail.

While you do not need to be an athlete to take a trail ride, participants should be fit enough to mount the horse. We do have a weight requirement that the rider must not exceed 220lbs if under 6ft, or 250lbs if over 6ft.

We require that children under 13 years old wear helmets, other than that it is your decision. We do provide helmets for anyone who would like to wear one.
We suggest you wear long pants and closed toed shoes (tennis shoes are fine). Hats are recommended – if you are wanting some authentic stop by our gift shop before departing.
While the trail ride is not fully narrated, we do provide verbal instructions throughout the ride, and these instructions are only provided in English. It is highly recommended that you understand English or bring along an interpreter if you plan to take a trail ride. If you plan to bring an interpreter please let us know beforehand, also they must pay for a ticket for the ride as well.
No, snacks and drinks are not provided. Although if you would like to bring your own, we do provide a bag that will hang on the horn of your saddle that you may stick your belongings in. We always include a couple of carrots as a reward to your horse, give it to your new friend after the ride.
Absolutely! Our horses are very gentle and only walk during the trial ride. There is no trotting or cantering.
We do have a liability waiver that each adult must sign before the ride. If there are minors coming, a parent or guardian must sign for them.

In general, our first ride begins at 8am however we offer rides throughout the day, ending with a sunset ride.
